Now that the Golf Outing is past, it is time to turn our focus to Pancake Day! The first committee meeting will be in July.
Bill Menker announced the next Litter Pickup is June 20, beginning 8 am at Yankee Trace. We’ll have fun discovering hidden trash gems, and be done by noon. Please let Bill know if you can help.
Brad Thorp reminded all that next week the scholarship recipients will be here with their parents.
Lee Hieronymus is recruiting volunteers to ride on the Rotary fire truck on July 4. You have fun soaking the crowd with water guns while promoting Rotary.
Happy Bucks this quarter will be donated to Operation Warm, providing winter coats to children in need in partnership with Hannah’s Treasure Chest.

Chuck K was happy Kristy joined us, and for attending the Dragon’s game last night where they had a 14-2 win, and it was the first time saw a bunt turn into a triple.

Lee H Farm Report: June is OH wine month. There are 430 licensed wineries in the state plus home wineries that are not licensed. W Layfeyette, Madison, Geneva won the contest, but not any in Montgomery County..

Sofie A for Kristy, and noted she did a 70 mile bike ride last week, and this week beat that by riding 72 miles.
Ron H went back to Delaware to visit family and friends and to enjoy some great crab cakes.
Dan S missed last two weeks while he was in Hilton Head, and said Brian is celebrating his 20th anniversary.
Kristy S was happy to officially be a member and to have her husband, Blake attend today.
Brad H welcomed Kristy, and said Bella’s summer is off to good start, with a softball tournament in Sandusky. Elks boys baseball had a good run but didn’t make it to the finals, as they lost to Moeller.
Jeff S for the library, his kids are coming to town, and he blew an engine in Washington D.C., and due to a nationwide shortage of catalytic converters, he has no idea when he’ll get his car back.
Don S welcomed Kristy, and said he got to play golf with his son, Drew at Olgebay.
Arnie B was fined for being in the Dayton Business Journal this week.
Our speaker today was Liz Fultz, Director of Washington-Centerville Public Library.
Liz announced the WCPL received the Torch Award for Ethics, which recognizes businesses dedicated to ethical practices, high standard for leadership and ethics in business. They are the first public library to receive this award and she does not know who nominated them.
She showed a video that gave an overview of the many things the library offers:

Creativity Commons - create & print items including banners, t-shirts, buttons, and more at no cost other than supplies.

Liz said the library is “A place for people to connect, learn, grow and belong.”
The WCPL Annual Report was recently mailed to all C-W Township residents.
Some interesting statistics shared:
14,000+ games were borrowed in 2025 (96% increase)
Culture Passes up 300%, and include Aullwood Audubon Center, Carillon Historic Park, Boonshoft Museum, International Peace Museum, and the Dayton Art Museum.

1,500,000 Items circulated in 2025 - 63% of the circulation is physical books, although digital is surpassing the hard copy of same title.
They have 65,716 cardholders - more than the population of C-W Township.
Liz then shared updates on the recent renovation of Centerville Library.
Blue paint added to the skylights in the main area makes it look brighter.
They consolidated services to one main desk and shelving was rearranged with minimal impact on the size of the collection.
Shelving was pulled off the wall to allow for more seating. The space is more open, with shelving lowered so you can see the windows and there is more natural light. There are more seating areas throughout, including a fireplace.
Administrative offices are now the new children’s area with lots of windows and a restroom in that area. The existing restrooms are being rehabbed. Two single stall family restrooms were added, including a universal changing table.
Meeting rooms have been added to seat 4, 5 and 8, plus a conference room that seats up to 12.

New creativity commons area moving from RecPlex East. It had over 18,000 visitors in 2025. Creativity Commons will have expanded hours and additional equipment.
With Miami Valley Communications Council moving to Yellow Springs, the library is including a podcast room. A federal grant helped pay for that cost. Glass, stone and metal working will be available in the new CC. Glass fusing kiln, laser welder being added. It is planned to open later in the summer.
The Friends of WCPL donated $60,000 and the Noon Optimists donated $50,000 for CC and interactive elements for the children’s area.
President Elect Manning led the group in reciting the 4 Way Test and wished everyone a good week.
