Chuck King then inducted Patricia Campbell as the newest member of the Centerville Rotary Club. Adam Manning was her sponsor, and Sofie Ameloot was her mentor.
Patricia shared she is a lifelong resident of the Miami Valley. She learned about Rotary at Pancake Day last year, where she also learned about the Rotary Exchange Program. Since then, she has hosted an exchange student this summer, and her son was also an exchange student. Her son is a senior at CHS, and her daughter graduated from CHS and is now a junior at Jacksonville University. Patricia is a judge at the Kettering Municipal Court. Welcome, Patricia!

- Wyatt T is excited his daughter is to be born on Tuesday, so he may missed the next several meetings. Also, his business found a spot on Paragon Road, so they should be moving back to Washington Township in the middle of next year. The construction on his house is complete, and after 3.5 hr allergy testing, discovered his son no longer has an egg allergy.
- Harvey S was celebrating his 93rd birthday this week. Happy Birthday, Harvey!
- Elda GG was happy for Harvey’s birthday, and they are celebrating with flan.
- Adam M for Patricia, and he highlighted the Pancake sponsor form on the tables and asked all to share, share, share! Carol K also mentioned the form is on the website along with a link to sign up as a sponsor or purchase pancake tickets online.
- Tom A shared a Hamilton, OH little league team won last night and this morning, so they are in the final game of the U.S. bracket.
- Mark K welcomed Patricia, and shared that Pancake tickets for you to sell will be available next week. The envelope will note what you owe, unless you paid with your quarterly dues. The Bengals had a great game the other night, and he’s happy for the nice weather.
- Lee H’s Farm report centered on the US-China Science & Technology agreement first signed in 1979 which opened the door for collaborative research while protecting intellectual property. This collaboration confirmed folate deficiency caused spina bifida and now more foods are required to add folic acid. Lee said a 1998 speech by Hillary Clinton pointed to the spina bifida research as one of the best examples of US and China cooperation.

- Rand O is back from Iceland, where he met a lady in the elevator who recognized his PHF pin as she is a PHF, too. The conversation then included a couple on the same elevator who turned out to be from Springboro! Rand discovered they are neighbors and was excited that his PHF pin started the story/connection.

Our speaker today was Blake Spivey, with Agile Technology and also an Air Force Veteran, sharing about AI.
Blake shared the usefulness of the Summary AI transcription tool. The app records audio of meetings and transcribes it to a summary within seconds. It can be used from a phone, computer, or Apple Watch. It know’s who is speaking; figures it out by other conversation. It is a background recording.
It Connects directly to Zoom and Microsoft Teams. It is hands free. It records and summarizes meetings and then downloads the summary as a PDF, and also a straight transcript.
It uses Enterprise Security GDPR, which has the strictest privacy standards - everything is saved local to your device, and encrypted, but still in the Cloud.
You can edit the content, i.e. name spelled wrong, but it does not remember your correction (part of the legal protection). It saves the audio file on your device, too.
There was discussion about the challenges/battles between college professors and students regarding the use of AI. College graduate work now has to go through software that would recognize AI within the document, since the college would publish the work as original.
The Summary AI app is free, but has limitations, including 30-minute meeting max. The Pro version has a free 3-day trial, after which a subscription is required. $8.99/week or $79.99/year. Blake believes it allows Family sharing, but not beyond that.
Types of AI:
- Generative AI - writes something for you when you give the idea.
- Creative AI - only takes what you give it. (Summary AI)
There are always some limits of technology particularly the quality of microphones being used.
Always proofread and correct before passing it out. And it is good practice to get people’s permission before recording a meeting.
